This is one of Smitty’s most distinctive seasonal offerings, made in limited batches from fruit sourced close to home.

Smitty’s strawberry jam is made in small batches for anyone who believes sometimes the classics are classics for a reason.

Small Batches. Seasonal Fruit. When It’s Gone, It’s Gone.
I didn’t build Smitty’s around mass production. I built it around Madeleine, a muscadine grape vine I inherited when we bought our house in Virginia Beach, VA.
Each batch is made by hand in limited quantities using seasonal fruit, traditional preserving methods, and recipes developed in the Smith kitchen…my kitchen (well, my wife’s kitchen-lol).
Some ingredients come from the garden. Others come through local growers, neighbors, seasonal finds, and the occasional good trade. I do my best to source everything locally when able. When I’m not able to do that, I make sure I know where it came from.
The result is a changing collection of preserves made to be enjoyed, shared, or given away to someone you care about.

Quantities will be limited, so come early if there is a particular flavor you have your eye on.
Why Smitty’s?
Smitty’s grew out of a love for gardening, seasonal food, preserving what the land provides, and sharing the results with other people.
There is something different about opening a jar that somebody actually made. I feel it every time I open a jar I made. I hope you will too!
