In this, the first official episode of Believer’s POV podcast, Dan focuses on the 2020 Census results and how the reflect a changing Hampton Roads.
A diverse Hampton Roads will better reflect the global church as a whole, and that’s a good thing. According to the Virginia-Pilot, “As a region, Hampton Roads is now 48% non-white, according to a data analysis from the Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP).” They follow this stat with a local example, saying, “Williamsburg, where the overall population grew by about 10%, is now less than 50% white, also according to VPAP. The Black population alone in Williamsburg nearly tripled since the last census in 2010.”
Dan then takes listeners through the Bible to understand why a more diverse culture is good and appropriate for Christians stating, “the fact that cities in Hampton Roads like Williamsburg are growing more diverse is a boon to our understanding of the eternal life to come.”
